Matthew Hurt
Virginia Tech
My name is Matthew Hurt and I am a sophomore at Virginia Tech majoring in political science and pursuing a double major in public relations. I am a diehard Hokie and I wouldn't have it any other way. I am very involved in local and statewide politics in Virginia, and I am proud to be the chairman of the College Republicans at Virginia Tech. I am a regular writer for the opinions section of the Collegiate Times and I've built up quite a reputation with the readers of being a strong conservative that writes about a lot of controversial issues. I was born and raised in the heart of Appalachia, in the small town of Bluefield, Virginia. Everything I do in my life, and everything I have, I give all the credit to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
