I have a confession to make: I am completely and utterly addicted to the internet. My version of social networking consists of tweeting to constantly make sure I always know what’s happening in the ever-changing, fast-paced world of politics (and informing apolitical friends along the way.) You can typically find me lurking with my laptop in laundry rooms, coffee shops, or libraries in La Crosse, WI, seven months out of the year. When studying, I adore 50s/60s music, but I also love Matt Nathanson: he has been one of my favorite singer/songwriters since I first discovered him advertised on the back of milk cartons at my high school. I also love my ukulele named Harold. My dream is to work one day soon in Washington D.C., although I have yet to finalize my career goals. I like to think of the future as a malleable object—there are so many possibilities, that I’d hate to restrict myself to one set course. On a final note, I believe in God and my country, but I don’t believe predestination, progressivism, or class warfare.

Reflecting on CPAC 2012, and the Student Presence February 16, 2012 Last weekend, I had the privilege to attend CPAC, and I was somewhat surprised by the large crowd of people my age. That's partly because of the affordable rate, but also because so many events were specifically geared towards students. comments (0)
What Kind of Change is Necessary in 2012? November 2, 2011 American politics have seemingly fallen back into empty rhetoric and glittering generalities. Let’s stop. The American presidency is a serious office and I can only hope that candidates will push harder to present real solutions to America’s problems. comments (0)
Hank Williams’ Hyperbole: Free Speech and Celebrities October 6, 2011 The public should know to expect outlandish behavior from celebrities—they have a right to speak their minds and they will take advantage of it. Freedom of speech is a choice, and it is up to each one of us, both celebrity and college student, to exercise it in the way which we best see fit. comments (0)
Remembering 9/11 September 8, 2011 9/11 is a day for reflection and remembrance of a dark day in America’s history. It should remind us that there are people who despise America. But it should also inspire us to do everything within our power to protect our country and keep it strong. comments (0)
Wisconsin Recalls Finally Over, Sharp Partisan Divide Remains August 17, 2011 Although money was spent like crazy in the Wisconsin recall elections, no one really won, and both parties can lay claims to respective wins and losses. The people of Wisconsin are the real losers here, because partisanship has now divided our state. comments (0)
